During dry season, the tendency of having a cough is highest. This is as a result of ‘Dry air’ (a very specific property of this season). Stress, exposure to cold(Harmattan), and not taking enough fluids are also causes that cannot be ignored. 
When you have a cough, here is a list of things you can do before seeing a doctor.
1. Stay Hydrated: Drink more fluids preferably Hot beverages
2. Steaming: Have a steam bath or make a steam bowl( facing a bowl filled with hot water and wrapped with a towel)
3. Ginger Tea: add a few slices of fresh ginger to a cup of hot water; allow it to steep for some minutes before drinking.
4. Honey: Add 2 teaspoon of honey to a cup of hot water and drink,
5 Soak 4-5 almonds overnight and grind to paste. Add some honey to eat, it helps soothes a cough.


Call a Doctor if you are 
1 Coughing up thick, greenish-yellow phlegm.
2 Wheezing.
3 Experiencing a fever more than 100 F (38 C)
4 Experiencing shortness of breath.
