MONITOR HEALTHCARE LIMITED (MHL) ORGANIZED A BREAST CANCER SCREENING OUTREACH AT THE NATIONAL ORTHOPAEDIC HOSPITAL, IGBOBI, LAGOS STATE ON THE 23RD OF MARCH, 2021.
On the 23rd of March, 2021, Monitor Healthcare Ltd (MHL) screened female staff of the National Orthopaedic
Hospital, Igbobi Lagos (NOHIL).
MHL partnered with the head of the Pathology department, Dr. Folake Olugbeminiyi (previously screened with the BREAST-i device), seized the opportunity to have her colleagues get screened to promote awareness and early detection of breast cancer.
The screening took place at the Pathology Department of the hospital where over seventeen (17) women were
screened. Patients were registered and also had their blood pressure, weight and height checked, before entering the
screening room. Their temperature was checked to also observe Covid-19 precaution guidelines. There was no positive case detected.
The outcome of this screening outreach showed the level of awareness of breast cancer among women in the
medical field which can be said to be the reason for their eagerness and interest to get screened.There is need for increased awareness of breast screening among Nigerian women.
MHL intend making screening easier by visiting workplace on request and getting staff screened while at work. This service is tailored to corporate organizations, churches, mosques, women cooperatives and any other women groups in Nigeria.
