MONITOR HEALTHCARE LTD ORGANIZES EYES SCREENING AND BASIC LIFE SUPPORT TRAINING FOR TRANSPORT WORKERS AT OJUELEGBA, LAGOS NIGERIA.


Transport workers are most time witness(es) to life claiming incidents and will help save many lives if equip and trained to. In view of this, on the 24th,27th and 28th of December 2021, Monitor Healthcare Ltd organizes eye screening and basic life support training (BLS) at Ojuelegba and ebute metta area of Lagos. The program started at exactly 10am and ended around 4pm in the evening each day and lasted for 3 days.

The opening of the program was held by Dr. Femi Ogunremi who addressed the participant on how to safe life with the aid of basic life support in times of any incident before access to the Hospital or arrival of emergency personnel. The Eyes screening was carried out with about 86 transport workers who were checked and counsel for the best use of their Eyes. In that exercise, other check-up was carried out to know more about the participant health status . These include checking of their BP, height, weight, waist and hip for BMI and WHR calculations.

 

 


On the 20th January 2022, the program was extended to the National Union of Road Transport Workers at Ebute-Metta Lagos.
The Screening Exercise was also carried out among the National union Of Road Transport workers Staff at their Mainland Office, Ebute-meta. Every available members of NURTW were trained for Basic Life Support and had their eye checked. Those who are were screened positive had their prescription or referral as the case may be.

 

 

Individuals present had time to practice what they have been taught on the mannequin to assess the training impact. Participants of the training came with good feedbacks before the training program was concluded.
