MONITOR HEALTHCARE LTD STARTS MONTHLY BASIC LIFE SUPPORT TRAINING FOR NIGERIANS TO HELP TRAIN PEOPLE ON HOW TO SAVE LIVES.
Most people have heard of the term Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and have at least a basic understanding of what the term means but only few have heard of Basic Life Support(BLS) training that is why Monitor Healthcare Ltd starts a monthly Basic Life Support Training at a reasonable discount every last Thursday and Saturday of every month for any interested organization or individual who is interested to know how to resuscitate and get certified for it.
The May edition of the training took place on the 29th where we had four (4) participants present for the training. This training lasted for about 2-3 hours. Monitor Healthcare Limited (MHL) enlightened the trainees that BLS training is not only designed basically for healthcare professionals but also for other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR, use the AED (Automated External Defibrillator), deliver appropriate ventilation and other basic cardiovascular life supports skills in a wide variety of in-facility so that we can prevent unnecessary deaths from cardiac arrest, heart attacks, drowned patient and other health conditions that affect the heart.
In the cause of the training, there was practical session and this involved the facilitator giving a demonstration after which each of the participants were given opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge acquired to ascertain participants’ understanding and ability to administer CPR and Basic Life Support to patients when required. The training was very interactive, practical, and educative as participants had their questions answered and thoughts clarified. Assessment was performed and participants who passed the Basic Life Support Assessment test would be awarded the certificate and on demand, the European Resuscitation Council Certificate (ERC) too.
Feedback form was shared to the participants to measure the training impacts, relevance and suggestions for improvement. The participants were so impressed and overwhelmed by skills acquired.
