Monitor Healthcare

Advanced Life Support (ALS) is a treatment consensus for cardiopulmonary resuscitation in cardiac arrest and related medical problems, as agreed in Europe by the European Resuscitation Council, most recently in 2010.

The ALS training is necessary for healthcare professionals working in acute care areas (e.g. ED, CCU, ICU, HDU, operating theatres, acute medical admissions units) with the expectation that the skills taught would be applied as part of their clinical duties.

Advanced Life Support (ALS) is a set of life-saving protocols and skills that extends BLS to further support circulation and provide an open airway and adequate ventilation (breathing).

ALS course teaches the knowledge and skills required to:

Recognize and treat the deteriorating patient using a structured ABCDE approach. Deliver standardized CPR in adults.

Manage a cardiac arrest by working with a multidisciplinary team in an emergency situation. Utilize non-technical skills to facilitate strong team leadership and effective team membership.
